Always Check the Label
Some of your clothes may look ordinary, but they can require special care, such as dry clean only. Always follow the labels on the clothes, there’s a reason why they are attached.
Don’t Stuff the Washer
Though there’s no reason to put a nearly empty washer to work, you shouldn’t stuff it too much either. The load should have enough room for water and detergent to actually wash everything you put into it.
No Need for Hot Water
With new technologies and detergents, the majority of your washing needs can be satisfied with cold water. Cold water will make your clothes last longer without compromising the cleanliness. There’s an exception, though: use hot water on items that need to be disinfected, such as underwear, towels, bed sheets, etc.
