3 Fantasy Novels You Need To Read This Fall

For fantasy lovers, this fall promises some exemplary new fiction from some of the best authors of the genre. Here’s what’s being released this fall.

A Deadly Education by Naomi Novik (September 29)

Naomi Novik has long been a major player in the world of fantasy, with her last novel Spinning Silver nominated for a variety of high profile awards. Her newest series begins with A Deadly Education and centers around a magical high school called Scholomance. The protagonist, El has to navigate the magical environment and students at the school. This is no Hogwarts though, and El has to deal with some pretty scary magical encounters.

Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse (October 13)

As one of the newer voices in the fantasy world, Rebecca Roanhorse has crafted a truly unique novel. Instead of focusing on a magical world set in the future, she brings her audience to the past. The novel centers around three characters in pre-Columbian America, and the mythology from that era.

Rhythm of War by Brandon Sanderson (November 17)

Brandon Sanderson’s next installment of the Stormlight Archive, Rhythm of War promises to be great. The book will bring fans back into the Cosmere, and the struggles of some of the main characters—Shallan, Kaladin, and Dalinar.
