It wasn’t a huge shocker to see HBO dramas Succession, The Last of Us, and The White Lotus lead Emmy nominations, but the same can’t be said about the rest of the list. The nomination day delivered several snubs and surprises that left TV lovers buzzing, starting with these five.

Snub: Yellowstone Dramas

Emmy voters never seemed to be huge fans of dramas from the Yellowstone saga, but experts still expected them to show some love to Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren for their stellar performances in the prequel 1923.

Surprise: Jury Duty

From Poker Face to Reservation Dogs, the Emmys snubbed many acclaimed shows when picking the outstanding comedy series nominations, but it was pretty satisfying to see Jury Duty make the cut.

Snub: Bad Sisters

The Irish black comedy Bad Sisters was a true delight when it premiered last summer. We expected it to do pretty well at the Emmys, but it failed to score the outstanding drama series nod.

Surprise: Obi-Wan Kenobi

This year’s field for the outstanding limited or anthology series was a true head-scratcher, and seeing Disney’s Star Wars series Obi-Wan Kenobi get a nod was the biggest shocker of them all.

Snub: House of the Dragon Cast

Even though House of the Dragon scored a nomination for outstanding drama series, no member of its remarkable cast was recognized—not even Paddy Considine or Emma D’Arcy.
