Whether you’re aware of it or not, you probably touch your face a lot. During the coronavirus, it’s important to not touch your face, specifically your eyes, nose, and mouth, to keep you healthy and prevent spreading germs. These tips and tricks will help you stop touching your face.

Don’t Wear a Mask Unless You Need To

When you wear a mask, you end up adjusting it several times which leads to germs spreading. So, unless you’re coughing or sneezing, leave the masks to medical professionals.

Avoid Triggers

Triggers like face eyelashes or contact can cause you to touch your eyes, so instead just wear glasses.

Wear Headbands

Keep your hair out of your face with headbands or hair ties, this way you won’t be moving those loose strands off your face.

Tie a Ribbon Around Your Finger

To break the habit of touching your face, try tieing a ribbon around the base of your dominant hand’s index finger and when you’re tempted to touch your face, reach for the ribbon instead. Try and identify what triggers you to touch your face.

Treat Underlying Conditions

Perhaps it’s a health condition that’s causing you to touch your face, like eczema or dry skin. Moisturize after you’ve washed your hands and talk to your doctor about treating these issues.

Practice Meditation

Engaging in even five minutes of meditation or relaxation twice a day can reduce the need to fidget and touch your face as these behaviors are often a result of stress.
