This is Why You Shouldn’t Use a Towel to Dry Your Hair

Our parents taught us to dry our hair with a towel after washing it. This is why we continue with this habit throughout our adult life. However, most of us aren’t aware of the downsides of such a practice.

  • Wet hair is more vulnerable to damage than dry hair as it gets more elastic and easier to break.
  • When we dry our hair with a rough and dry cotton we are aggressively pulling hair strands and that’s how we damage it significantly.

So what would be the alternative? Well, you can replace your towel with a super absorbent towel or a microfiber towel. A microfiber towel is made from an artificial fiber which better absorbs the water. Also, you can use your t-shirt to mop off all the excess water before allowing them to dry naturally.

But the best way to dry your hair is to air dry it. Air drying eliminates the chances of any kind of damage or breakage, so it’s the perfect way to get your hair dry.
