]]> Sheer dresses are the hottest trend. While they leave little to the imagination, we’re big fans of feeling confident and flaunting what you got. With the majority of the big fashion houses incorporating this trend in their runways, here’s how sheer dresses have been used in this year’s fashion market so far.

This year, many designers and fashion houses have leveled up sheer pieces to make them a bit more wearable for the average consumer. Don’t get us wrong, many garments that are as sheer as anything can still be found. This can be understood as sheer layering.

This appeared evidently at the Tory Burch fashion show earlier this year. With sheer maxi skirts layered underneath structured mini dresses and tanks, this company managed to make these pieces look feminine yet practical, and not too exposing.

While on the other end of the spectrum, designers such as Saint- Laurent had models walking down the runway with all to be exposed, leaving very little to the imagination. These two ends of the spectrum allow customers to feel empowered and confident, whatever that may mean for them.

This method of foundation application is believed to give that glass-skin finish that everyone is striving for!

The Application Process

The way to achieve this is by putting a small amount of foundation on the back of your hand. Then, you drag the thin edge of your spatula through the foundation. Slowly apply the foundation to small sections of your face at a time using a very gentle hand. Gentle blend with a sponge, and voila! You’ve got a perfect foundation application and glass-like skin.

Medium Sized Tattoos

According to tattoo artists, fewer and fewer clients are asking for medium-sized designs. They either look to go big with a large elaborate tattoo or a full sleeve or opt for a tiny tattoo.

Cartoons

]]> While fine line, gray shading, and blackwork tattoos seem to be all the rage this summer, there are a few tattoo trends that are rapidly declining. Here are a few tattoos you will see less of in the summer of 2021.

Medium Sized Tattoos

According to tattoo artists, fewer and fewer clients are asking for medium-sized designs. They either look to go big with a large elaborate tattoo or a full sleeve or opt for a tiny tattoo.

Cartoons

Another tattoo request that is becoming rarer is cartoon-style characters, with exaggerated proportions or big, sparkly eyes for example. Cartoony tattoos were definitely popular five to ten years ago, but are now starting to look dated.

Lower Back Tattoos

Logistically, a lower back tattoo makes sense for people who don’t want to advertise the fact that they have tattoos. They are easier to conceal than arm and leg body art, yet their popularity seems to be waning.

Money Related Tattoos

Tattoos designs that are focusing on wealth are on their way out too. If there is one thing 2020 taught us, it is that there are far more valuable things in life than material possessions.

Curly Bangs

Traditionally, blunt bangs are blow-dried and straightened to lay as flat as possible. But between the recent movement of people embracing their curly hair and Taylor Swift’s natural look while promoting Folklore, keeping bangs naturally wavy or curly will be a big trend this winter.

Face-Framing Braids

If this look reminds you of the early 2000s, you’re onto something. The 2000s have never been more in than they are now, and face-framing tendrils and braids are a big part of the fun.

Claw Clips

Similarly, throwing your hair up in a messy updo with a claw clip is another hair look from about 20 years ago that is back and better than ever.

Two-Tone Hair Color

This year, Tik Tok made playing with two-tone hair color, like with an e-girl style money piece, a major trend, and this one isn’t going to be going away anytime soon.

The hue represents a rich blend of greenish-blue and grey. It looks natural and harmonic. The team behind next year’s choice focuses on colors that look grounded and rooted, as they explained during the virtual reveal event. The comforting shade will be perfect for fall and winter coziness so if you’re planning to freshen up your home before the holiday season, definitely consider it.

“Aegean Teal 2136-40 and the corresponding Colour Trends 2021 palette express a welcoming, lived-in quality that celebrates the connections and real moments that take place within the home,” the director of color marketing and development at Benjamin Moore Andrea Magno said in the press release.

As we get to spend more time at home during the pandemic, it may be the perfect time to think about adding some color and making your home a bit warmer, and Aegean Teal is just the color to do that.

Naturally, those of us who lived through these trends the first time around may be hesitant to see them returning, bringing up cringy tween and teen memories.
