Creating new furniture and decor takes a big toll on the environment. From the shipping to materials to packaging, the whole process creates a lot of waste. But, if you buy something used, you are eliminating all those factors and just getting what you want, a beautiful product that is at least new to you.

The bedroom overlooks the back of the property, and hand-carved claw foot king bed and deep red chairs are original to the home. The space is decorated by antique bust lamps and bedside tables, and topped with modern abstract artwork. Step into the seating area, and a beautifully large window casts natural light over the antique fireplace. In the world of design, there will always be new innovations, reincarnations of the old, and everything in between. However, with innovation comes waste. If you are someone who loves to redecorate often with new products, that means we are just creating more items in the world that will eventually end up on a landfill, or worse. Instead, be a conscientious buyer and look into second hand and vintage decor.

Creating new furniture and decor takes a big toll on the environment. From the shipping to materials to packaging, the whole process creates a lot of waste. But, if you buy something used, you are eliminating all those factors and just getting what you want, a beautiful product that is at least new to you.

Cost Effective

Not only are you doing something good for the environment, but you will also likely to help out your bank account. Almost anything second hand, unless it is incredibly rare and valuable, will be cheaper than buying something new. Sometimes you can even get things for free if you look in the right places!
