]]>The Russian sculptor became an Instagram sensation after he started crafting sculptures out of pencil graphite. He became interested in miniature art long before embarking on this challenge and used to create tiny copies of famous paintings on rice, pumpkin, and sunflower seeds.
Fidai eventually settled on pencil graphite, and explained his fascination, telling Bored Panda, “For me, it’s like meditation and a challenge: to make a micro sculpture and not break it! It is indeed very fragile and tiny and that excites me the most.”
Fidai uses a craft knife, and a magnifying glass or a stereo microscope to carve his sculptures, and they’re mostly inspired by pop culture.
Many people took notice of his work after he started crafting Game of Thrones-inspired sculptures. He draws inspiration from many other popular movies and TV shows, in addition to carving pencils shaped like household items, famous buildings, animals, and flowers.

]]>Paredes’s Instagram account has more than 40,000 followers, and her pastel-colored tiny homes are a true delight. She discussed her craft with The Daily Mini and revealed that she’s been making her colorful miniatures since the age of 10.
The Spanish artist usually uses different types of wood to craft her mini homes. The most impressive part is that she also makes tiny furniture to decorate the interior of each house. Paredes uses acrylic paint to paint them, while other details are made with clay. This is the most challenging part of the entire process, but she also enjoys it the most.
Her work will help you find a new appreciation for things we all enjoyed as kids—playing with dollhouses and making things with clay. Paredes’s tiny homes prove there’s still beauty to be found in these activities, and they’re obviously made with a lot of love.

]]>As part of his ongoing drawing project “The World”, Leach focuses on creating miniature drawings of locations around the world such as Amsterdam (The Netherlands), Rabat (Morroco), and even Micronesia’s own Palikir.
The typical size of a drawing is around 40 millimeters width and 30 millimeters height. Leach mostly uses a pencil and a scalpel as his drawing tools, and a special tool to polish the outcome once the drawing is done. The canvas is rabbit skin gesso stretched on a tiny block of oak.
The artist chooses to depict in miniatures outdoors scenes with an emphasis on cities, which comments on the vastness of these locations in comparison to the human experience. We suddenly see the vastness of the world as a tiny insight. Since the drawings are still quite detailed it may feel like there’s no room in there for us humans. Elizabeth Hatz of EV+a Matters writes about this aspect of Leach’s work and claims that “the work makes you enter a world through the compression of your mind but the expansion of your senses.“

]]>Han crafts her miniature structures with polymer clay, but sometimes uses different materials for the tiniest details. They’re so small she has to use dotting tools and tweezers to properly assemble all the pieces together.
You don’t have to be an expert to guess it takes a lot of time to create one of these adorable miniature sculptures. The simpler ones take around an hour, but there’s usually a lot of layering involved, and that’s why Han often spends days working on a single creation.
Her Instagram page @supersmallstuff attracted 215k followers so far, and that number is growing by the day. Isabel Han mostly focuses on animals and plants, but she’s no stranger to crafting miniature versions of our favorite pop culture characters, including Pikachu and Baby Yoda.

]]>Jon Almeda’s ceramic creations look pretty ordinary when you see them photographed on their own, but they’re actually so small that your mind will be blown once you see them compared with other everyday objects.
This Hawaiin artist specializes in the creation of ceramic miniatures, but that wasn’t always the case. He abandoned “bigger is better” mentality after reading a book on this subject matter, and decided to give it a shot.
His outlook on art completely shifted, and he quickly discovered that the creation of tiny pieces requires even more effort. Attention to detail is essential, and he perfected it by testing different clay bodies, making his own tools and trying new techniques.
Almeda has been creating miniature ceramic pieces for almost two decades, but the rise of social media helped him get the word out. His Instagram page currently has 283.000 followers, who are constantly impressed by the fact his tiny creations look just like their large counterparts until you see them side by side with other everyday objects.
