Jessica believes in a balanced diet and she doesn’t like to deprive herself. However, she has a list of banned food such as white sugar, white flour, fatty foods, refined carbs, and anything that’s pre-packaged.

What we love about Jessica is that she actually has the courage to admit that she absolutely hates working out. Even though it takes a lot of discipline to get her to the gym, she tries to work out six days a week. She has a lot of tips on how to stay motivated, such as creating a great playlist, finding a workout buddy, and watching TV at the gym.

“I think water is essential [to good health],” Jessica told E!. Staying hydrated is obviously very important for the actress and she’s also a huge fan of coconut water. She discovered it when she got into hot yoga and says it’s the perfect beverage to keep you hydrated.

The beauty market has been oversaturated for a while now and yet Alba believes there is room for her accessible, clean beauty brand. She has revealed that Honest Beauty puts the wellness of the consumer first as this is what she cares about the most.

“Consumers want something that’s cool and like them — youthful and current — and so I needed to compete with the big luxury brands,” Alba told Glamour. “But the health and wellness of the consumer isn’t the reason why [these companies] exist. Profit margins and coolness and building a business and having an idea? Great. But the health and wellness of the consumers is the only thing I care about.”

She added: “This was a social justice mission and I was like, ‘Do I ask the same five rich people for money every year or can I build a sustainable business around this idea and have the consumers fund this mission?’ And that’s what I’ve done.”

In a new video for British Vogue, the actress explains that she remembers how she watched her mother applying mascara when she was little and that she still uses a makeup application trick she picked up back then. In a five-minute video, which you can watch below, we see Alba applying mascara primer before going for mascara. “I always use primer, and I like to just blink,” she says. “It gets the product all the way from the base of the lash to the ends.” How amazing is that?

Alba lets her primer dry before applying actual mascara. “Mascara is the most important because, at the end of the day, when you’re talking to people, I’m looking at your eyes,” Alba explains. “So I think this is where you should spend a good amount of time, even if you don’t spend too much time on anything else.”
