There are so many detangling products on the market and we guess they’re all great for treating hair that is prone to knots and tangles. However, you can make your own hair detangler at home – it’ll cost you less and you can choose which essential oils you want to use depending on your needs.

You’ll need:

  • Leave-in conditioner
  • Hot water
  • Essential oil (optional)
  • Spray bottle
  • Measuring spoon
  • Measuring cup

Instructions

  1. Add three tablespoons of leave-in conditioner into the spray bottle. Leave-in conditioner is great for detangling hair and it also prevents hair damage. This is very important because wet hair is weaker and more prone to damage and breakage.
  2. Add hot water to the spray bottle and leave two inches of empty space at the top so you can shake the bottle later. Water should be warm enough to break the leave-in conditioner down but not too hot.
  3. You can add three to five drops of essential oil to this formula, but it’s not necessary. For example, rosemary oil is great for stimulating hair growth and chamomile adds shine and softness.
  4. Shake the spray bottle before each use and store it at room temperature.
