Who doesn’t love guacamole? It’s perfect for any summer barbeque or picnic. The avocado-based dip is amazing in salads, on bread, or with chips but while guac is delicious, there are ways to make it even better. Here are five ways to take it to the next level. Your taste buds will thanks us later!

Smoky

To give guacamole a smoky flavor, grill or broil some of the ingredients or add bacon. If this is too much work, the easiest way to add smokiness is with chipotle chili hot sauce.

Crunchy

While chips add a crunch, you can add even more with pistachios or roasted corn. Imagine the mixture of textures.

Fruity

Mango may not be the most traditional ingredient in guac, but it gives the dip a fruity twist. In addition to mangoes, other fruits that work well in guac are oranges, pineapple, and pomegranate seeds.

Boozy

Give guac a margarita-inspired take with tequila or mezcal. Who doesn’t love some booze in their food?

Cheesy

When you can’t decide between nachos and cheese or nachos and guac, why not have both? Make a guacamole nachos mix and top it with melted cheddar cheese.
