Now that it’s finally heating up outside and the sun is shining it’s time to make the switch from hot coffee to iced coffee. Instead of visiting your local Starbucks or Dunkin’, you can make amazing iced coffee at home. In fact, with these tips, you can make it even tastier.

Make Coffee Iced Cubes

One of the reasons a lot of people don’t like iced coffee is it tastes watered-down and that’s because it is. Iced coffee and espresso-based drinks are poured over regular ice to make them colder which results in watery drinks on hot days. To prevent this, make coffee ice cubes by pouring cold or room temperature coffee into ice trays and freezing it. When it’s frozen add the cubes to a glass and fill it with iced coffee.

Make Creamer

Store-bought creamer sure is tasty, but it’s also packed with sugar, preservatives, and artificial flavors. You can make your own with just three ingredients.

Add Sweetness

Coffee shops have simple syrups and flavored syrups which make the drinks taste amazing. You can purchase vanilla, caramel, or hazelnut syrups or you can make them at home. All you need to do is heat up 1/4 cup of water and 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and cook it until the sugar has dissolved and the liquid is thickened. For more flavor, steep whole vanilla beans or cinnamon into the warm syrup.
