]]>Being realistic is extremely important when it comes to travel goals, especially right now, with so many travel restrictions still in place. An exotic trip to Bali may not be a realistic goal at the moment, but that shouldn’t stop you from exploring the natural beauty of your own country.
Another problem with epic trips to foreign countries is their high price tag. If you’re tight on money, they’re probably out of reach, but you can still save up and go on an exciting road trip to a nearby national park or tourist resort.
If lack of money isn’t stopping you from hitting the road, it’s probably lack of time. No matter how packed your schedule is, it’s still possible to travel more if you think outside of the box. Explore the beauty of weekend getaways and day-trips instead of waiting to have a full week off.

]]>“I love an adventure,” said Lack in an interview with Lonny, admitting that she tends to get bored when standing still. “I also love how [traveling] smashes the pre-conceived notions you have about the world, even when you don’t realize you have them!” she notes. Having written for brands and publications like Cosmopolitan, Harper’s BAZAAR, and Martha Stewart, she clearly has an eye for beauty.
But she admits it took her some time before jumping onboard the social media bandwagon. “I wasn’t a super-early adopter [of Instagram],” she relayed. “When I finally did, it was because it seemed like hearing about it from friends had reached a fever pitch. I thought the real-time peek into someone’s life—and the cool places they were going—sounded intriguing.”
With traveling ill advised on the heels of COVID-19, it’s good to be reminded of the beauty and splendor this planet has to offer and what we stand to lose of we don’t take care of our environment. “We’re all human,” says Lack, “trying to get by and struggling with and finding joy in the same things—only in different settings.”

]]>If you can, it’s always a good idea to support the locals who rely on tourism. Small local restaurants and food corners and family-run hotels are just some examples of businesses run by people who make your trips more convenient.
When possible, avoid traveling by plane or driving a car. You can lower the CO2 emission by going to destinations closer than you, taking a train, or riding a bike more. When exploring a new city, do it on foot or rent a bike or electric scooter and help reduce carbon footprint.
The lack of safari tourism is a good thing for African animals, but when things go back to normal, we should be extra careful about preserving their habitats while exploring these parts of the world. Seeing wildlife in person is always exciting, as long as we’re respectful guests.

]]>We all know that traveling can be very expensive and accommodation takes up a large part of the cost. If you’re willing to stay in someone’s home instead of a hotel, Airbnb is a great economical alternative.
Staying in someone’s home for a few days has many perks and meeting your host and other local people is definitely one of them.
Staying at a hotel is an impersonal experience as opposed to the relaxed and warm atmosphere you can experience in an Airbnb host’s home.
Finding and booking an Airbnb accommodation is easy, fast, and very convenient. Once you’ve filled out your profile and gone through the verification process, you only need to put in your travel dates and search for available spaces at your travel destination.

]]>Don’t make plans as you go along if you know your time is limited. Do proper research long before embarking on your journey, know how much time it takes to reach each of the attractions on your list, and figure out when you’re going to take a break.
The attractions you’re checking out should be in close proximity to each other. If you want to see something that’s located far away from the main area you’re visiting, see if you can travel there by public transportation and make sure you’re not going to the other side of the city for a single attraction.
24 hours is enough to scratch the surface by seeing the main spots, but you have to come to terms with the fact you won’t see everything that’s worth seeing. Attractions with long waiting lines are a luxury you can’t afford, and exploring their exterior is the best you can do in a single day.

]]>We don’t have to stress that jeans are out of the question during a heatwave, as well as black clothes, because they absorb heat. Try to pack lightweight clothing like white linen dress or shorts that you can combine with different tops. Comfortable shoes and a hat that will protect you from the sun are also a must.
Whether you’re traveling or not, drinking plenty of water is the number one rule during summer. This is particularly important if you’re traveling to a country with low or high humidity.
Plan your schedule accordingly and reserve early morning and late evening hours for sightseeing. In some countries, the hottest part of the day can last as late as 6 or 7 p.m. Use this time to rest and then you can continue with your activities.
When packing for your summer trip, don’t forget to bring sunscreens of varying factors. Wearing sunscreen on a daily basis is a must to avoid sunburns that you can easily get without noticing.

]]>Even if you don’t bring cash with you, chances are you’ll end up using an ATM. Trying street foods and buying souvenirs from local vendors is an essential part of traveling, and you usually can’t pay for these things with card.
None of us think we’ll end up having our wallet lost or stolen, but these things can happen. That’s why you should take necessary precautions while traveling and always stash some money in a safe place.
Carrying cash doesn’t mean you should ditch your card – it just means you shouldn’t rely on a single method of payment. In case your card ends up being suspended, you’ll have cash to fall back on until the problem is solved.
