]]>On a hot day even if you aren’t exercising, staying hydrated is essential. We suggest brining a water bottle with you when you head outside for your workouts and drinking sports drinks to rehydrate and replenish.
Not only should you wear light fabrics like cotton or sweat-wicking materials, wear light colors to reflect the sun.
This should go without saying, but anytime you’re outside during the summer, make sure you’re wearing sunscreen. For workouts outside, you’ll need a waterproof one that’s at least SPF 50.
Avoid working out outside from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. because it’s the hottest part of the day.
If you start to feel dizzy, tired, or nauseous, those are signs it’s time to take a break. It’s imperative to listen to your body when you feel like something is off.

]]>When working out outside, it’s essential to keep at least six feet of physical distance. Try and find times that are less busy and places that have fewer people. If you see that people aren’t maintaining safe social distances, find a new place to workout.
You can create your own mini gym by bringing your TRX trainers, resistance bands, and yoga mats to the park or playground. Make sure you have disinfectant wipes with you to wipe down surfaces before you use them.
Many of us prefer group fitness classes to working out on our own, and you can still do group classes while adhering to social distancing guidelines. Before you gather with friends, check to see the rules regarding gatherings from your state. Or you can join an outdoor class, which are being offered by many gyms and they’re usually good about sticking to health and safety practices.
The rules are a bit unclear regarding if you need to wear masks while exercising, but we suggest erring on the side of caution as face masks reduce the transmission of the coronavirus.
