]]>That’s how we came across Kirill Babii’s hand-made wood utensils. Both minimal and beautiful, his work includes anything from a wooden spoon to a bell jar. “I like working with my senses,” remarked Babii in an interview with the Etsy blog where he explained his creative process. “The materials, and the function and requirements of the piece to create the best possible combination—something that distills the very best of everything and keeps only the most necessary elements.”

Wooden cutting boards are great for slicing roasted chicken, rack of lamb, skirt steaks, or charcuterie. Invest in a good one because if you take care of it, it can last a while.
For day-to-day tasks, use synthetic boards because they can be easily cleaned. When the boards have deep cuts, it’s time to replace them as you want to avoid bacteria from getting into the cuts.
Stay clear of glass, marble, and stone as they will damage your knives. Also, avoid silicon because foods stick to it easily and it makes the board difficult to clean.
