A leaking tap is one of the worst things you can happen to your kitchen. If you are not big on fixing things, you definitely need an easy guide that will help you out. Check out the steps below and you’ll be done in no time.

Turn off the Water

The first step is to turn off the water from the main source. Find it and shut it down completely. Don’t ever work with the water on.

Take It Apart

You will need to remove the screw of the tap, then take the head off. Continue taking it apart and leave the parts on the side. Remove the O-ring, located at the bottom of the tap spout.

Get A New O-Ring

This is usually the part that leads to a leaking tap. By placing a new one you will be taking care of the problem. The two other parts you might want to change are the rubber washer and the ceramic disc.

Put Everything Back Together

The only thing you have left is to put the tap back together. You should put the parts in the order that you’ve taken them out so that you know how to put them back together during the last step.

Sometimes, the can opener goes missing just when you need it most. But don’t worry, if you don’t want to go ask your neighbor to borrow theirs, there are plenty of ways to get a can opened without one. Make sure you are extra careful because some of these methods include sharp tools.

Rock

The safest way to get a can opened is by rubbing it against a rock. Just go back and forth until you see some liquid on the rock-that means the seal is thin enough to break. Simply slip a butter knife or spoon under and pry open the lid.

Chef’s Knife

Using the very bottom of a chef’s knife, create small holes all around the edge of the can. Once you’ve gone around the perimeter of the can, you can use a small tool or a butter knife to lift the lid.

Spoon

Some cans are thin enough that you can actually use a spoon on its own to open it. Dig the spoon into the can, making a small hole. Rub the tip of the spoon back and forth in the hold to create a wider opening. Continue doing that around the edge until the lid is released.
