Using two skewers will give you more control over the meat and veggies as you flip them. Using only one skewer can lead to your food twirling around, but two skewers will ensure even cooking and perfect outcome.

]]>When you go to a cookout this summer and there are hot dogs, there’s a good chance you’re going to see one side: sauerkraut. Sauerkraut is a condiment that comes from Germany and literally means sour cabbage, which is exactly what it is. However, a lot of people don’t realize that sauerkraut isn’t pickled it’s fermented, which means it’s super good for you!
Sauerkraut has a ton of probiotics in it because of the fermentation process it undergoes. Unfortunately, the kind you buy in a jar from the supermarket contains little to no probiotics because it’s gone through a heating process that kills a lot of the bacteria. However, if you get the refrigerated type, that one will be flooded with all the gut-healthy probiotics. Although it’s definitely a little more expensive, it’s worth going for the refrigerated type because it tastes better and is way better for you.
Sauerkraut is the perfect addition to hot dogs, Reubens, and even tossed into salads to add an acidic component. So, even though this summer you might be having more hot dogs and burgers than usual, you can at least take solace in knowing you’re doing good for your gut by eating sauerkraut.

There are many different types of cast iron pans available, and one popular kind is a grill pan! The ridges of the grill mimic the effect an outdoor grill will give you to, but at a fraction of the cost and without fussing around with gas or charcoal.
Use a cast iron grill to sear steaks and burgers for meat lovers, or to make out of this world vegetarian dishes with vegetables as the main event. The great thing about grilling is that it imparts a lot of flavor as well as texture, so you can take a regular green like bok choy or fennel and make them into something seemingly more substantial.
