The easiest way to rock this trend is, of course, to find a piece that already has its metals combined. Rings that have both silver and gold elements are a subtle way in for those who may not yet be totally on board with the style.

Earrings are another way that different shades can be brought together beautifully. This can be achieved with a single pair that includes contrasting colors, or, if you have multiple piercings, wearing both gold, silver, and even rose gold jewelry at once.

Layering is a huge trend right now and this is where mixing metals truly shines (if you’ll pardon the pun). Stacking necklaces with different hues can be done well by also varying the lengths of the chains. Keep it modern by sticking to the same style when it comes to chunky and delicate pieces.

]]> As a long time actress, Nikki Reed is used to making headlines. Her films Thirteen and the Twilight franchise allowed her to shine. Now, she has stepped away from the spotlight and into the world of jewelry design. 

BaYou with Love is the name of her socially conscious, and eco-friendly jewelry company. Based in Los Angeles, Nikki, along with her team designs fine jewelry made from ethically sourced metals and gems. Most notably, she recently collaborated with technology maker Dell. Silver and gold are regularly used to make technology components, but when the tech is no longer in use, it tends to be thrown out. Instead of throwing it out, Nikki and her team recycle the metals and turn them into jewelry pieces. 

The model that Nikki is working towards is a zero-waste one. The jewelry industry is one that has a lot of waste, and sometimes unethically sourced stones and metals. Nikki is actively raising awareness around these topics and creating jewelry that respects Mother Nature. 

Take a look at some of her pieces, which are designed around natural elements. Her most recent collection has been designed to look like running water, and is incredibly beautiful. Each of these pieces is a treasure.
