Eye makeup removers can be quite costly and sometimes if you have sensitive skin, you’ll have to choose a separate face wipe and eye wipe. Making your own makeup removers for your eyes will not only save you money but also teach you how to make your own natural products in your home.

All you’ll need are simple ingredients that are probably already in your bathroom for this easy and simple recipe. If it works out, you might want to even give these little babies to your girlfriends as gifts!

Ingredients:

  • a container with a snap-on lid or a glass container
  • Castille soap (preferable Dr. Bronners)
  • jojoba oil or argan oil
  • lavender essential oil
  • frankincense oil
  • fabric cotton rounds
  • glass bowl

Instructions:

  1. First, grab all your liquid materials and place them in a bowl.
  2. Put 10 spoons of Dr. Bronners into the bowl.
  3. Add 10 drops of each essential oil.
  4. Add 5 spoons of jojoba or argan oil.
  5. Now grab your glass container with a snap-on lid and place the organic cotton rounds on top of each other.
  6. Lastly, pour the mixture into the container.

Try to use up all the eye make up wipes in a span of two weeks so they’ll remain fresh. Now you have gentle eye make up wipes that you can create over and over again!

If you’re someone who wears makeup, you know how important it is to take it off with makeup remover before you go to sleep. But even if you only wear makeup every so often, the amount of cotton pads or makeup wipes you’re using and throwing away really adds up. If you want to go more zero-waste with your makeup routine, try making these reusable cotton rounds!

For this DIY, you will need about half a yard of fabric, which will make about 25 cotton rounds. You can use any fabric, but organic cotton or flannel is probably best since it’s soft. You also need a glass, and either a thread and needle to sew it by hand, or a sewing machine. For this project, it is important to sew the pieces together, not just glue.

Method

  1. First, wash and dry the fabric.
  2. Then, lay it out and fold it in half, so when you cut out the circles it’ll be two at a time, and you match them perfectly.
  3. Use the glass to make an imprint on the fabric so you don’t have to also use a fabric marker or pencil to mark the place.
  4. Cut out the circles, make the wrong side face each other on the inside, and sew the edges so they don’t come apart.
  5. Use them right away and throw them in the wash when they’re dirty!
