KFC just gave fans a finger-lickin’ reason to celebrate. After years of online pleas and hunger-fueled nostalgia, the beloved Chicken & Waffles combo is officially back on the menu. And this time, the fast-food chain is doubling down on indulgence by launching a brand-new dessert: Strawberry Shortcake Flavored Creme Pie Poppers. Yes, you read that right—fried chicken, golden waffles, and dessert in one delicious comeback.

If you’re wondering what to expect, how long it’s sticking around, and whether it’s worth the hype, grab your syrup and read on.

The Return of a Fan Favorite

Originally released for a limited time in 2018, KFC’s Chicken & Waffles combo quickly became a customer obsession. Featuring their Extra Crispy chicken paired with warm Belgian-style waffles and a drizzle (or douse) of Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup, it struck the perfect balance between savory, sweet, and totally satisfying.

This year’s version sticks to the winning formula, offering crispy chicken tenders or bone-in pieces alongside the same syrupy waffle goodness that made people swoon in the first place. Available as a combo meal or à la carte, it’s here for a limited time only—so you’ll want to act fast.

Meet the Pie Poppers

KFC’s not stopping at nostalgia. They’re also adding a brand-new dessert to the mix: Strawberry Shortcake Flavored Creme Pie Poppers. Think of them as bite-sized hand pies filled with sweet strawberry filling and creamy vanilla custard, then wrapped in a flaky, golden crust. It’s basically summer in dessert form, and yes, it’s deep-fried perfection.

These new treats are designed to be snackable—perfect for ending your meal or hoarding in the car for later (no judgment here).

What Fans Can Expect

Here’s what’s on the table with the Chicken & Waffles comeback:

  • Crispy chicken tenders or bone-in pieces
  • Belgian-style waffles made with pearl sugar for that sweet crunch
  • Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup (pour generously)
  • Strawberry Creme Pie Poppers to finish it off

Pair it all with a sweet tea or KFC’s secret-recipe fries, and you’ve got the comfort meal of the season.

Why the Buzz?

Bringing back limited-time offerings is a classic move in fast food marketing, but it works especially well when the product hits a cultural sweet spot. Chicken and waffles is a beloved dish in Southern cuisine and soul food traditions, and KFC’s take offers a fast-food-friendly version that doesn’t skimp on flavor.

Plus, with dessert innovation like the Pie Poppers, KFC is clearly aiming to keep things fresh while giving fans what they want.

Fried, Sweet, and Totally Worth It

Whether you’re reliving the glory of 2018 or trying Chicken & Waffles for the first time, this is one limited-time comeback that lives up to the hype. Add in the new dessert, and you’ve got a menu lineup that checks every box—comforting, crave-worthy, and just over-the-top enough to feel like a treat.

So go ahead. Indulge a little. Just don’t forget the extra syrup.

When you think of Stanley Tucci, his memorable roles in films like The Devil Wears Prada and The Lovely Bones might come to mind. Yet, beyond his acting prowess, Tucci has carved out a delectable niche in the culinary world. Raised in an Italian-American household, his passion for food has been a lifelong affair, leading to acclaimed cookbooks and the Emmy-winning series Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy.

Among his many culinary insights, Tucci’s approach to soup-making stands out. In his most recent book, What I Ate in One Year, he shares six transformative tips to elevate your soup game.

Who Is Stanley Tucci—And Why Should We Trust His Food Advice?

Stanley Tucci isn’t just an actor who dabbles in the kitchen. His food credentials run deep. From co-writing Big Night (a film centered around an Italian restaurant) to writing cookbooks and starring in a food-focused travel series, he’s earned his spot at the culinary table.

His Emmy-winning show, Searching for Italy, has been praised for its authenticity and Tucci’s effortless charm as he explores regional dishes and the stories behind them. In his books The Tucci Cookbook, The Tucci Table, and the food memoir Taste: My Life Through Food, Tucci combines personal stories with tried-and-true recipes, cementing his reputation as a food lover with substance.

Stanley Tucci’s 6 Tips for Next-Level Soup

Tucci recently shared his favorite soup-making hacks—and they’re as practical as they are flavorful. Here’s what you need to know before you stir another pot:

1. Cook with the Seasons

Tucci swears by using seasonal vegetables, just like his grandmother did when making her classic minestra. Think green beans, tomatoes, and zucchini in summer, and hearty root veg in winter.

2. Don’t Skimp on the Olive Oil

A finishing drizzle of high-quality olive oil—or truffle oil if you’re feeling fancy—adds depth and richness right before serving.

3. Leftovers Are Liquid Gold

Don’t throw out that last bit of soup. Instead, use it as a base for your next pot. It’ll boost flavor and reduce waste.

4. Let Tomato Soups Simmer

Tomato-based soups benefit from a long, slow simmer. It reduces acidity and brings out the natural sweetness of the tomatoes.

5. Add Fried Herbs for Flair

Inspired by his wife Felicity Blunt, Tucci adds fried herbs on top for a crunchy, aromatic twist. It’s a simple way to elevate a humble bowl of soup.

6. Always Cook Pasta Separately

If you’re making chicken noodle or any pasta-based soup, cook the pasta separately. It prevents sogginess and ensures a perfect texture every time.

Tucci’s Cookbooks: Comfort Food with a Side of Storytelling

Tucci’s cookbooks are more than just recipes—they’re love letters to family, tradition, and good food.

  • The Tucci Cookbook is rooted in Italian classics, many of which he grew up eating.
  • The Tucci Table expands beyond Italy, incorporating British and American dishes he cooks with his wife.
  • Taste: My Life Through Food reads like a memoir, but weaves in recipes and reflections on how food has shaped his life.
  • What I Ate in One Year: (and related thoughts) takes us through a year of meals, exploring the life, loss, and memories woven into each bite.

If you’re someone who loves a side of story with your sauce, these books are worth diving into.

Final Thoughts

Stanley Tucci makes soup-making feel like a soulful ritual rather than a weeknight chore. His advice is simple but game-changing: cook with care, honor the ingredients, and don’t underestimate the power of a perfectly placed garnish. Whether you’re a seasoned home chef or just trying to survive soup season, Tucci’s tips are a warm invitation to slow down and savor the process.

So go ahead—grab a pot, some good olive oil, and maybe a Tucci cookbook or two. Your next bowl of soup might just be your best yet.

St. Patrick’s Day may have come and gone, but that doesn’t mean you have to pack away your love for all things Irish—especially when it comes to food. If you missed out on making Irish soda bread this year, don’t worry. This simple, delicious, and historically rich bread deserves a spot in your kitchen year-round. After all, who says you can only enjoy a warm, crusty loaf once a year? Definitely not the Irish.

What Makes Irish Soda Bread So Special?

Irish soda bread is not your average loaf. Unlike traditional bread recipes that rely on yeast, this beauty rises thanks to baking soda and buttermilk, which react together to create a tender, slightly tangy crumb. It’s a no-fuss, quick bread that requires minimal ingredients, making it perfect for bakers of all skill levels.

Historically, soda bread became a staple in Irish households during the 19th century when baking soda became widely available. With simple ingredients like flour, salt, baking soda, and buttermilk, it was an accessible and affordable way for families to make fresh bread at home. While some variations include raisins, caraway seeds, or even a touch of sugar, the traditional version keeps things delightfully simple.

Why You Should Make It Right Now

If you’ve ever had Irish soda bread fresh out of the oven, you know that waiting for the next St. Patrick’s Day to roll around is just unnecessary torture. This bread is hearty enough to pair with soups and stews, yet light and satisfying enough to enjoy with a smear of butter and jam for breakfast. Plus, with only a handful of ingredients and no need to wait for the dough to rise, it’s one of the easiest breads you can whip up in under an hour.

Tips for the Best Irish Soda Bread

Want to make a loaf worthy of an Irish grandma’s approval? Here are a few expert tips:

  • Don’t overwork the dough. Mix until just combined—kneading too much will make it tough.
  • Score a deep cross on top. This isn’t just for looks—tradition says it lets the fairies escape (and scientifically, it helps the bread bake evenly).
  • Use cold buttermilk. This helps activate the baking soda for the perfect rise.
  • Resist the urge to slice too soon. Let it cool for at least 10 minutes before cutting to lock in the moisture.

Irish Soda Bread Beyond St. Patrick’s Day

Once you realize how easy and versatile Irish soda bread is, you might find yourself making it for all occasions. Serve it alongside a hearty beef stew, turn it into toast for an epic breakfast, or even transform leftovers into a rustic bread pudding. It’s the kind of comfort food that fits every season.

The Final Word: Bake Now, Thank Us Later

So, if you’ve been regretting not making Irish soda bread in time for March 17th, consider this your official permission slip to get baking. St. Patrick may have left the building, but this bread is here to stay—and honestly, it’s way too good to be confined to just one day a year.

Now, grab your flour and buttermilk and get to it. Your taste buds will thank you.

Stanley Tucci, renowned actor and passionate food enthusiast, has captivated audiences not only with his performances but also with his authentic Italian culinary creations which gained a cult following during the pandemic. Through his cookbooks and social media presence, Tucci shares a variety of pasta dishes that embody the essence of Italian home cooking—simple, flavorful, and comforting.

Pastina Classica: A Three-Ingredient Comfort

One of Tucci’s cherished recipes is Pastina Classica, a dish that exemplifies the beauty of simplicity. This comforting meal requires only three ingredients: pastina (tiny star-shaped pasta), butter, and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese. Tucci recalls this dish as a staple from his childhood, often served during colder months or when someone was feeling under the weather.

To prepare Pastina Classica:

  1. Cook the Pastina: Boil the pastina in salted water until tender.
  2. Combine with Butter and Cheese: Drain the pasta, return it to the pot, and stir in cubed butter until melted. Add freshly grated Parmigiano Reggiano, mixing until a creamy consistency is achieved.
  3. Adjust Consistency: If needed, add a bit of the reserved pasta water to reach the desired creaminess.

This dish offers a quick and satisfying meal, perfect for busy days or when seeking a nostalgic taste of home.

Pasta e Ceci: A Hearty One-Pan Wonder

Another favorite from Tucci’s repertoire is Pasta e Ceci, a hearty combination of pasta and chickpeas. Ideal for autumn, this one-pan dish is both nutritious and flavorful. The recipe involves sautéing garlic, chili, rosemary, and bay leaves in olive oil, then adding onions, leeks, and carrots for depth. Tomato purée, whole tomatoes, and chickpeas are incorporated, with a portion of the chickpeas mashed to enhance creaminess. The pasta is cooked directly in the sauce, allowing it to absorb the rich flavors. A drizzle of olive oil before serving adds a finishing touch.

Pasta Fagioli: A Classic with a Modern Twist

Tucci’s take on Pasta Fagioli showcases his ability to blend tradition with convenience. This classic Italian soup combines pasta and beans in a tomato-based broth. To simplify preparation without compromising taste, Tucci utilizes canned beans and store-bought marinara sauce. He emphasizes the importance of cooking the pasta separately to prevent it from becoming overly soft and suggests adding a Parmesan rind during simmering for enhanced depth of flavor. This method results in a hearty, comforting dish suitable for any night of the week.

Embracing the Essence of Italian Cooking

Stanley Tucci’s pasta recipes reflect the core principles of Italian cuisine: quality ingredients, straightforward techniques, and a focus on flavor. Whether it’s the simplicity of Pastina Classica, the robustness of Pasta e Ceci, or the comforting familiarity of Pasta Fagioli, Tucci’s dishes invite home cooks to experience the warmth and satisfaction of authentic Italian meals. By sharing these approachable recipes, he encourages everyone to bring a taste of Italy into their own kitchens.

Stanley Tucci’s pasta recipes reflect the core principles of Italian cuisine: quality ingredients, straightforward techniques, and a focus on flavor.
