]]>Is there a more classic, chic style than the trench? With its belted waist, statement lapels, and long, flowing style, this coat has been in every season, practically since fashion began. It’s one drawback is its warmth – once the weather really closes in, a traditional trench is useless against the biting winds and snow. This is why you should consider investing in an insulated trench, a coat with the classic outer layer, but with hidden internal layers which help to keep you warm. If you’re struggling to find a trench with these insulating layers attached, try a thin gilet worn under the coat for a temperature boost.
Some outfits demand to be shown off, and in these situations, you want an outer layer that won’t swamp you and hide your carefully curated clothes. In these cases, a bomber jacket is an excellent choice. Forever cool, cropped to the waist, and able to fend off the wind and rain, this jacket style is a must-have in your wardrobe.
A quick glance at the catwalks confirms that when it comes to coat styles, this season it’s the puffier, the better. Keep yourself really warm (and cocooned against the city) with a full-length, triple-layered duvet coat. The best part about this style is that, if you’re just popping out somewhere, you really don’t need to think about the outfit underneath the coat, as no one is going to see it.

]]>If you search the word “coat” on Instagram, you’ll stumble upon a bunch of coats in neutral tones. Beige is the most popular color right now, but different shades of brown are also trending.
Plaid is one of those prints that are never going away, especially this fall. If you don’t already own a plaid coat, now’s the perfect time to get one since you’ll be seeing them on every corner.
If leather jackets happen to be your favorite fashion item, this trend will suit you just right. Leather coats are longer and even more daring, and they’ll add some edge to your looks.
Quilted coats blend pragmatism with style, and buying one is a great way to ensure you’ll stay warm this fall while looking really chic.

Baby blue is also one of the colors we adore seeing in the wintertime, and Glee star did an amazing job styling it. Coats in this shade can always be paired up with denim, and you can never go wrong by adding black to the mix.
Lea Michele is obviously a huge fan of the monochrome trend, and she embraced it once again with this look – minus the shoes. A beige coat is always a good idea since this warm and neutral color goes well with pretty much everything else.

If you want to replace the buttons, the first step is to take off the buttons from your coat. If you want to keep the buttons where they are, put a dot with a fabric maker where you take them off. Then, simply sew the new buttons into the original places and you’re done!
If you want to go ahead and change the placement of the buttons, you will have to sew up the original holes on the one side of your coat and cut and sew new ones in as well as the buttons.
