Of course, we notice dirt and mess in other people’s homes and in public bathrooms, but in our own homes we’re exposed to it every day, so it gets overlooked. Put away any toiletries or makeup products that are on your countertop and wipe down your counter, faucets, and toilets.
There’s nothing grosser than finding someone else’s lipstick or dust on your glass. Prior to guests arriving rinse down your glasses and make sure to dry them right away. They’ll be so sparkly clean!
Inevitably, your guests will gather in your kitchen, so make sure your sinks are clear and your countertops are tidy. If you have dirty dishes and are in a rush, put them in the dishwasher.
Your pets, kids, and husband probably spend a lot of time chilling on the couch and it likely has food or pet hair all over it. Before your guests come, vacuum the couch, fluff any pillows, and fold the blankets.
