]]>Bangs rarely look good without styling. If you’re not used to it, all of the combing and blow-drying and dry shampoo that bangs require may be more effort than you want to deal with.
If you get bangs and hate them, it will take at least a year for them to grow out completely. Is that something you’re willing to deal with?
The age-old question of how to handle your bangs when you work out—or wash your face, for that matter—still doesn’t have a great answer.
If you live in a windy place and spend a lot of time outside, or ride a bike around, your bangs are inevitably going to get messed up.
If you read through this whole list and still want to get bangs, by all means—go for it. They’re not for the faint of heart, but your heart isn’t faint.

]]>Sure, you can go to the hairdresser for a trim every four weeks, but that can get annoying and expensive. Your best bet? Learning how to trim them yourself. Don’t worry, it’s not as scary as it sounds. Here’s how to make it work.
First, make sure that you use real hair cutting scissors. They’re not that expensive and they won’t ruin your hair like kitchen or office scissors.
You’ll also want to get familiar with point cutting. Instead of cutting straight across like a piece of paper, point cutting involves cutting upward with small snips until your hair reaches the length you want. It’s much more forgiving.
Finally, start small! Just cut off a tiny bit at first to build up your confidence cutting into your own hair. Then, once you’ve figured it out, you can always take more length off.
Good luck and bang on!

Wet hair is longer, so naturally, when your hair dries it’s going to be shorter. Also if you wear you straighten your hair most of the time, you should cut your bangs when your hair is straight. The same goes for if you naturally have curly hair.
