It turns out that most modern-day jobs are sedentary, which means that most people are required to sit at a desk for most of the day. Prolonged sitting can have serious health consequences, but there are a few things you can do to combat the effects of sitting and be more active at work.

Get up Every Hour

People who sit down for 8 hours every day at work should definitely take a short break every hour to get up and move around the office for a few minutes. Also, use your lunch breaks to go for a quick walk around the block and you’ll notice the benefits for your body very soon.

Adjust Your Seating Situation

Optimizing your workstation is essential if you want to be comfortable at work and prevent any back pain or injuries. In order to ensure this, your chair should be adjusted so your knees are level with your hips and the monitor should be at eye level. It’s also extremely important to think about your posture all the time if you want to avoid back pain.
