TikTok is a great source of new food and drink trends, and it introduced us to several refreshing new crazes this spring. If you’re in the mood to take your mixology skills to the next level, here are three viral drink trends worth sipping on right now.

Sleepy Girl Mocktail

Are you looking for a tasty beverage that will improve the quality of your sleep? Sleepy girl mocktail is made with pure tart cherry juice, magnesium powder, and Olipop soda, and those who tried it swear it will give you the best night’s sleep of your life.

Protein Lemonade

TikTok users love adding protein powder to pretty much everything—including lemonade. Made with lemonade, ice, and protein powder, this drink walks a fun line between lemonade and protein shake, and it can be quite healthy if you don’t add any sugar to the mix.

3 Drinks Theory

To be fair, the “three drinks theory” initially emerged on Twitter before taking TikTok by storm. One Twitter user shared their definition of luxury—drinking three liquids at once: one for hydration, one for energy, and one for fun. Water, matcha, and spindrift were mentioned in the original tweet, but TikTok users were quick to share their favorite combos.

We ended 2020 with hot chocolate bombs exploding all over our Instagram and TikTok feeds, and we’re starting the New Year in a similar fashion. Tea bombs are the latest viral craze taking the internet by storm, and they have several major similarities to their predecessor.

Like hot chocolate bombs, tea bombs tend to burst after coming in contact with a hot beverage—water instead of milk, in this case—but they’re made with different ingredients. Marshmallows, cocoa, and other sweet treats are now replaced by more tea-friendly ingredients, such as dried tea leaves and flowers.

Another thing that makes them different from hot chocolate bombs is their magical, translucent spheres. Instead of pouring chocolate into silicone molds, you’ll use isomalt crystals this time around, to give the tea bombs the glass-like look that they’re best known for. It’s also recommended to mix food coloring with your melted isomalt to make the bombs more colorful.

When it comes to the rest of the ingredients, you should fill the bombs with a teabag and some dried flowers. A hot pan is usually used to melt the edges and stick them together, creating a perfect tea bomb that will create some magic in your teacup once you pour hot water over it.
