The theaters are limiting seat availability and leaving blank spaces in between, but you can also do your part in avoiding the crowds. Avoid Fridays, weekends, and screening that take place after 6 pm because the theaters tend to be the most crowded in the evenings.
Many people are going to the theaters simply because they miss the experience, not because there are many great movies screening right now as many highly-anticipated projects postponed their release dates.
