]]>Beck started making designs in the snow in 2004. He was hanging out in a ski resort in France when he decided to go on a walk to create a geometric design in the snow “just for fun.” When he hopped on the ski lift the next day, he discovered how beautiful his creation looked from above.
“Snow drawing, which to me seems like a fairly obvious idea, was not something anyone else had ever done as far as I could tell, and I was really surprised by that,” he said in an interview.
The artist’s work sure is unique, but it isn’t always easy. Weather conditions heavily affect the end result of each piece. Even after hours of snow drawing, heavy winds can blow away the footprints and destroy the entire piece. But Beck doesn’t let the weather get in his way- quite literally.
With the help of other volunteer artists, Beck has created 330 snow drawings and even showed off his skills on the beach by creating 120 masterpieces in the sand.

]]>For most, winter is, without a doubt, the world’s worst season. From the unrelenting cold to the non-stop Christmas music, there is much to dislike about the year-end months. For most, shoveling snow is the worst part about winter by far.
However, this man shows that there is still hope. Unlike most people who take to the snow with a shovel in hand, Joshua Jordan uses a more creative route: rolling his snow like a carpet.
As a native of West Virginia, Joshua is no stranger to annoying snowfalls. Because of this, he has gotten rather creative in how he handles shoveling his lawn. Rather than do the exhausting work of shoveling, Joshua has learned to pack the snow, lift it, and roll it like he would a rug. The whole process looks like magic, but Joshua has no problem showing you his tricks.
While Joshua is perfectly fine disclosing his technique, he insists that this cannot be done with every type of snow. The fluffier, powdery kind is no good and, unfortunately, can only be removed via shovel.
But for homeowners who have sticky, packable snow, they are in luck. If the snow can be molded into a solid snowball, then Joshua says you can easily fold it up like you would a carpet. This revelation shocked the internet and, to Joshua’s surprise, he has become a bit of a phenomenon.
Since posting the video, Joshua has amassed a staggering 5.8 million views. If that’s not a bad sign for snow shovel companies everywhere, then I don’t know what is.
If you want Joshua’s in-depth explanation of the whole process, check out the video below!
