]]>The Polish artist graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, but she actually developed a passion for embroidery during her teenage years. It came easy to her, because she already had a background in other fields of art, and she is completely self-taught.
Bartnik doesn’t necessarily see herself as a bird expert, but she still finds them quite special and fascinating. With so many different types of birds out there, she’ll never run out of the ideas, and she seems to enjoy those with colorful feathers the most.
Since she’s a huge nature lover, it’s not uncommon to see Bartnik embroidering other animals, but birds are her biggest source of inspiration. She paid homage to her favorite winged creatures by naming her business Embirdery – a brilliant pun that combines words “bird” and “embroidery” into one.
