ESPN has announced that Carter signed a multi-year deal to cover NBA and men’s college basketball. This includes filling in as a game analyst and appearing in-studio on ESPN’s shows including NBA Countdown, The Jump, Get Up, and First Take.

Carter’s a great fit for the position as he’s already served as a guest analyst on ESPN several times while he was still an NBA player.

Carter’s 22-year-long career with the NBA included him playing for the Toronto Raptors, New Jersey Nets, and Atlanta Hawks among other teams. He also represented USA Basketball in several tournaments including the 2002 Olympic Games in Sydney where USA won gold.

His last season was with the Hawks, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Carter didn’t have a farewell game. His career average is 6.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game.
