]]>After a brief hiatus, McDonald’s is bringing the McCrispy Chicken Strips back to its menu starting April 29, 2025. This fan-favorite dish, originally launched in select locations, became a hit for its perfectly seasoned, crispy coating and tender, juicy chicken. The McCrispy Chicken Strips will be available as a three- or four-piece combo with a choice of dipping sauces, including Creamy Chili, Spicy Buffalo, Hot Mustard, and Nether Flame. The three-piece combo is priced at $4.99, and the four-piece combo at $5.99, though prices may vary.
The company’s decision to bring them back was driven by customer demand, with numerous social media posts and petitions pushing for their return. McDonald’s likely recognized a golden opportunity to tap into the nostalgia factor and satisfy a craving that’s been simmering for a while.
As with many McDonald’s releases, fan reactions are anything but unified. Some are overjoyed to see the return of the crispy chicken strips, praising their crunch and flavor, as well as the new creamy chili sauce served on the side. For these fans, McCrispy Chicken Strips are the perfect quick meal or snack to enjoy on the go. On the other hand, some aren’t as enthusiastic, arguing that, despite their name, the strips just aren’t crispy enough! This kind of division isn’t new to McDonald’s, and it will be interesting to see if the product truly captures the attention of their entire fan base.
While the McCrispy Chicken Strips are making a highly anticipated return, the launch of McDonald’s Snack Wraps remains a work in progress. Fans have been eagerly awaiting their comeback since they were discontinued in 2016. McDonald’s has suggested that the wraps will return before October 2025, but the exact date is still under wraps (pun intended). Until then, the McCrispy Chicken Strips might just be the closest thing to satisfying that Snack Wrap craving!
McDonald’s is tapping into the power of fan nostalgia with the return of the McCrispy Chicken Strips. Whether you’re a die-hard fan or skeptical about their return, there’s no denying that this move is part of McDonald’s broader strategy to recapture the attention of fast food lovers. With limited-time offers, ongoing fan engagement, and the possibility of future tweaks, McDonald’s is sure to keep us all wondering what they’ll bring back next.
Ready for some crispy goodness? Keep an eye on your local McDonald’s starting April 29!

]]>Founded in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1950, Whataburger has cultivated a devoted following across the Southern United States. Known for its sizable, made-to-order burgers and distinctive A-frame orange-and-white-striped roofs, the brand has become a regional icon. Now, with over 1,000 locations across 16 states, Whataburger is setting its sights even higher.
Whataburger’s growth trajectory is accelerating. The company has announced plans to enter its 17th state, North Carolina, with multiple locations slated to open in 2025. Cities like Gastonia, Charlotte, and Hickory are among the first to welcome the brand.
But the expansion doesn’t stop there. Whataburger is also making inroads into Tennessee, with new restaurants planned for Chattanooga and Knoxville. Additionally, the chain is extending its footprint in Florida, with new locations planned in Tampa.
In a move that signals serious intent, Whataburger recently appointed Todd Ewen, a former McDonald’s executive, as its new Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer. Ewen brings over 20 years of commercial real estate experience, including a significant tenure at McDonald’s, where he supported the brand’s growth strategy. His expertise in site selection and strategic growth is expected to be instrumental as Whataburger continues its expansion.
The fast-food industry is in a state of flux, with consumer preferences evolving and competition intensifying. While McDonald’s has long been the dominant player, other chains are making notable strides:
Whataburger’s strategic hires and expansion efforts position it to be a formidable contender in this shifting landscape.
As Whataburger ventures into new markets and leverages seasoned leadership, several factors will be critical to its success:
For burger enthusiasts and industry watchers alike, the unfolding dynamics between McDonald’s and emerging challengers like Whataburger promise to be both intriguing and appetizing.
While McDonald’s continues to enjoy a significant share of the fast-food burger market, Whataburger’s calculated expansion and strategic talent acquisition suggest it’s gearing up for a bigger slice of the pie. Whether this Texas favorite can translate its regional success into national dominance remains to be seen, but one thing’s for sure—the burger wars just got a lot more interesting.

]]>For as long as we can remember, Burger King and McDonald’s have been in competition. When McDonald’s launched their all-day breakfast menu, Burger King kicked back with the “Impossible Burger.” In case you haven’t tried it, this is a vegetarian, plant-based patty which takes practically indistinguishable from meat.
Now, McDonald’s have reclaimed the court with the launch of its own meat-free burger. The patty has been created by P.L.T. (Plant, Lettuce, Tomato), who created the “Beyond Meat” patty. The patty cooks like beef and being plant-based, it is free from soy and gluten as well as meat.
The new burger is set to do a test trial in Canada. If it proves popular, the meat-free burger will be made available in other McDonald’s stores worldwide. The burger will retail for around $4.50 USD and will be sold for 12 weeks in Canada starting this week.
So if you are a fast-food lover living in Canada right now, it’s over to you.
