]]>Find a gentle liquid soap or baby shampoo, and mix a small amount with water.
Dip the wet brush into the cleaning solution. Gently swirl the brush in your hand to help remove the built-up makeup. Be careful not to wet the metal part connecting the bristles to the handle because it can weaken the glue over time.
Rinse the brush under running water, keeping the bristles pointing downwards to prevent water from getting into the handle and glue.
Reshape the brush bristles with your fingers if they get misshapen during cleaning. Then, gently squeeze the excess water out of the brush using a clean towel or paper towel.
Finally, lay the brushes flat on a clean towel so that they can dry naturally. It’s best to let them rest overnight so that they’re completely dry by your next use.

If your makeup brushes and sponges are caked in makeup, this could be why your skin still has the odd zit or blemish when you are doing everything else right.
To clean your brushes, run them under lukewarm water with an anti-bacterial soap. Handwash your brushes and then run water over them until the water runs clear. If there is still residue on the brush, repeat this step.
After all the brushes have been rinsed, lay them out on your window sill. Be patient and wait for them to fully dry. When they have dried, you are good to go and apply makeup with your freshly-cleaned brush.
