]]>The co-owner of Taiyaki, Tom Yang, said it took them four months to come up with a good recipe for this Japanese delicacy. They are only available Friday through Sunday, from 11am to 2pm, because each order takes quite a lot of time to make.
“We do it in limited quantities for around 100 per day. Sometimes, we go over if people come and they’ve been waiting a long time. We always make a little extra. Everything is made from scratch, that’s why it might take 10 to 15 minutes per order,” explained Yang.
Thanks to a limited amount of orders, soufflé pancakes became New York’s latest “it food” that everyone wants to try. In addition to being super-tasty, they proved to be extremely Instagram-friendly thanks to their fluffy structure that produces an interesting bouncy effect.
