]]>When it comes to caffeine, there is the right amount that can help you starve off a headache as caffeine naturally narrows your blood vessels and relieves the pressure. This is why most migraine medicine includes caffeine. On the other side, consuming too much caffeine can actually give you a headache, as your body gets used to a certain amount of caffeine each day and when you stop drinking as much the blood flow rushes back to the brain, causing a headache.
To get rid of headaches, firstly start drinking lots of water—caffeine tends to dehydrate you which makes a headache worse, so start your day drinking water instead of coffee.
These headaches might push you to go cold turkey on caffeine, but this is not the best option. Instead, start cutting back slowly. Give your body time to adjust to less and less caffeine per day and the headaches will go too. 200 milligrams of caffeine per day or less is the number you want to aim for.
Also, start using natural energy sources instead of relying on caffeine every day, by sleeping well, getting more sunlight, and doing yoga or meditation.

]]>This one may seem totally obvious, but carry a reusable water bottle with you. You can fill it up when you see water stations at the airport or train station, and can even set reminders on your phone to make sure you sip consistently.
Do you get hangry? Same. Snacking is crucial when you’re out and about, so why not let them hydrate you as well? Cucumbers, watermelon, grapes, and oranges can all do wonders for your water intake
Sizzling temperatures, long flights, and certain drinks can all lead to dehydration. Try to reduce your coffee consumption as caffeine is notorious for sapping hydration, and have a glass of water between every glass of wine or beer.
When we’re not properly hydrated on the inside, we feel it on the outside too. Make sure that your moisturizer includes hyaluronic acid to keep your skin quenched (especially on the plane!) and carry a little face mist around for when you need a cooling spritz.

]]>Well, first of all, there’s no hard and fast rule. How much water you have to consume on a daily basis will vary depending on your sex, diet, size, climate, and activity level, among other variables. The best guideline isn’t even the number of glasses you drink. Rather, it’s best to keep an eye on your output. That is, you’ll know you’re hydrated if your urine is clear to pale yellow. Any darker and you need to drink some more.
But if you are looking for a general guideline to help you figure out a daily water intake goal, here goes. If you’re an average-sized man living in a temperate climate, aim for 3.7 liters. If you’re a woman, 2.7 liters will do. That’s 15.5 and 11.5 cups respectfully. And none of these numbers are eight, so you can throw that suggestion out the window.
The best thing to do, though? Listen to your body. It will tell you what it needs.

]]>Hydrating before your run is crucial, but you shouldn’t go overboard right before heading out. It’s actually recommended to drink 16 to 24 ounces of water about an hour before going for a run.
The best way to quench your thirst while running is having a water bottle by your side, but bottle belts and hydration vests are also an option. It’s up to you to decide when you’re going to stop and re-hydrate, but it’s recommended to drink 6 to 8 ounces of fluid every 20 minutes.
Some runners don’t enjoy carrying a water bottle with them, because it slows down their pace. If you feel the same way, make sure to plan your route ahead and have at least one or two water fountains along the way.
