“I became somewhat fixated by a New York egg cream after watching Ina Garten, aka the Barefoot Contessa, aka Queen of buddderrr, make one on her show,” Johansen admits on Instagram. “Looking at a jar of lemon curd in the kitchen cupboard, I wondered if you could make an egg cream, but with lemon curd and an extra spritz of freshly squeezed lemon juice instead. GUESS WHAT, YOU TOTALLY CAN AND IT’S DELICIOUS. Adding vodka or gin for an extra kick is also pretty rad.”
Aside from publishing books, Johansen has also written for publications like The Times, Sunday Times, Daily Mail, Stella, and Marie Claire. “I grew up in Norway and we didn’t have these gendered ideas of what an ‘appropriate’ drink for a woman was,” she remarked once in an interview with Khoollect. “If you wanted a beer, you drank a beer. If you wanted a whisky, you drank a whisky.”
We admit, her Instagram page makes us thirsty (a literal thirst trap? We’ll have to get back to you on that…)

Cocktails, punches, and mulled wine will have you drunk before you know it and you can completely write off being productive the next day.
Have a glass of water with every drink so you don’t dehydrate. You can avoid hangover and headache simply by drinking enough water.
The morning after, eat something savory. Among the good choices are the soup, fruit, pickles, etc.
