Jeans you don’t wear? Cut strips out of them and join them together to make a denim bag made up of different shades. Cut off a pocket and add it to the front for added storage.

]]>If the item that’s broken is far beyond your expertise, you can rest assured knowing that you probably shouldn’t even attempt to fix it yourself. In this case, a professional is definitely needed. However, if you’re faced with the task of fixing something and it seems like it should be easy enough to do, why not give yourself a chance?
Now, we’re not suggesting that you’ll be able to fix it right away. It might take a little bit of research, and heck, even a little bit of outside help. But the extra work you put in will be more than worth it—and not just because of the money you’ll save. Sure, you might save a little bit of cash, but the main reason for fixing it yourself (assuming you’re able to) is that you sought a challenge and rose above to meet it!

]]>Ultimately, the real question should be how serious you are about building something of good quality. If you’re remodeling your home, for instance, you can’t just figure it all out in a day. You have to be learning how to do it for a long time before gaining skills, and do you really want to sacrifice the quality of whatever it is you’re remodeling in your home?
That’s why we recommend that if you really want to build something yourself, you should start slow. Don’t tackle major projects that’ll require both massive time commitments and pressure to make sure it’s perfect. You need to first see if you enjoy DIY at all, and build your experience in the craft by making smaller, lower-stakes creations in the process.

]]>Let’s be honest, buying new food storage containers hurts the wallet. They can be really expensive (especially if you choose to go for glass containers over plastic). Luckily, the jars you were planning on throwing away or recycling are perfect for storing leftovers. They are airtight, so your food won’t leak at all!
If you like to make your own juices at home, these sauce jars are perfect for storing them! You can make a batch in bulk and save them in the fridge for the week.
Who said all of your cups have to match?? If you’re on a budget or just really passionate about reducing waste, use your leftover jars as cups!
Using jars as planters or flower vases is such a cute way to make your decor a bit more rustic and cute. It will give a more “DIY” aesthetic and show off how much you care about the environment!
There’s nothing worse than having a bunch of pens and not knowing where any of them are. Maybe they’re taking up space in your junk drawer, or scattered at the bottom of all your bags–but not anymore! Use a jar to store your pens neatly on your desk, so they always have a place and won’t get lost!

]]>This year, many designers and fashion houses have leveled up sheer pieces to make them a bit more wearable for the average consumer. Don’t get us wrong, many garments that are as sheer as anything can still be found. This can be understood as sheer layering.
This appeared evidently at the Tory Burch fashion show earlier this year. With sheer maxi skirts layered underneath structured mini dresses and tanks, this company managed to make these pieces look feminine yet practical, and not too exposing.
While on the other end of the spectrum, designers such as Saint- Laurent had models walking down the runway with all to be exposed, leaving very little to the imagination. These two ends of the spectrum allow customers to feel empowered and confident, whatever that may mean for them.

]]>With the influx of brands to choose from, ever-changing fashion trends, and the increase in sustainability awareness, it’s a good idea to learn how to sew your own clothing items. The best thing about learning to sew and create your own clothes is that you can do it for a fraction of the price you would pay at shops, online stores, or thrift stores.
To make it even better, every time you create clothing items, you create something specifically for your body. No more comparing how the dress fits compared to a friend or Instagram model. Instead, everything you create is made by you for you, which is an even better feeling.
Sure, you can draw inspiration from fashion shows and what you see on the racks in Zara. But you can add a touch of you to each piece, making them one of a kind. No more meeting up with friends wearing the same outfit or the same dress at a formal event. You will step out knowing no one else will be wearing what you have on.

]]>One way to create a stamp collage is to find stamps that have the same theme—it could be butterflies, flowers, birds, or whatever else you like. Then stick them on a canvas, and you have a gorgeous piece of art.
Another option is to select stamps that are in the same or similar colors to one another to create a tonal piece. An advantage of going for a monochromatic design is that it will look really visually striking on your wall from a distance. You can also have fun cutting your collage into different shapes and setting it against a colorful background.
The sky is the limit when it comes to the designs you can create with postage stamps. For those more experienced artists, why not let your mind run free and try an elaborate design?
