When we consume warm or hot foods, it’s much easier for our gut to digest them because it doesn’t have to use as much energy to heat it up, since it’s already at a higher temperature.
There are better ways to cook your foods so you have nutrition, flavor, and proper digestion. Boiling foods is almost always a bad way to go because the nutrients will leak out of the foods and literally get poured down the drain.
But, if you steam or roast them, you keep the integrity of the vegetable and the nutrients. However, if you’re really craving a salad that’s not cooked, consider leaving your vegetables out of the fridge so they’re at least at room temperature, which is better than having them straight from the fridge.
