In the town’s city center, Nottingham’s Wonderland is one of the most significant festive events in the Midlands. From day to night, this market is filled with rides, an ice rink, games, an incredible food hall, and more, ensuring something for everyone to enjoy. Just remember, don’t drink and skate!

York: November 17 – December 23

You might be surprised to realize you are not in a victorian novel but in reality, you’re in a  beautiful open-planned Christmas market with victorian stalls and live singing all evening. A few years ago, York was voted one of the most festive towns in the UK. Why not enjoy quality time with friends and family at York’s Christmas market?

]]> When you think of Christmas candy, we are sure that Candy Cane’s come into your top 5 favorite seasonal candies. This time though, instead of eating all the sugar, use them for decoration in your home. With a little time and patience, your home can get into the Christmas spirit, with some hot glue, ribbons, and lots of candy canes.

Candy Cane Wreath

Arrange your candy canes in a circle in pairs with the hooks facing out. Affix together with hot glue. Affix some put some pretty bows on the canes and add to the center a snowflake design. Thread a ribbon through two candy canes at the top to hang.

Candy Cane Swag

These parts of this pretty decoration are all available at the dollar store, so won’t cost you a lot. All you need is 2 large candy canes, a large red glittery ribbon, some fake cranberries, red flowers, and your trusty hot glue gun and you have a Christmas decoration.

Christmas Tree Ornament

Place two candy cane hooks together, creating a heart shape, and add seven more in a circle shape, and glue them together. Add a bow or some glitter to the middle, thread a ribbon through one of the hearts and tie it to your tree.

]]> When you’re young, making your Christmas list is one of the most exciting parts of the holiday season. You get to sit down and write out your heart’s deepest desires in the hope that Santa will have some of them waiting for you under the tree on Christmas morning.

Yet, as adults, we don’t tend to write gift wishlists anymore. Instead, we let people get things for us that they think we’d like. After all, it’s nice to get a thoughtful surprise from your loved ones. And you don’t want to seem greedy by asking for something in particular. So it goes; no more Christmas lists.

But we think a case can be made for making a wishlist for the holidays no matter your age. Here’s why.

  1. It makes life much easier for your loved ones when they don’t have to wonder what to buy you.
  2. You’re more likely to end up happy with what you receive, which will also make the gift giver happy.
  3. You’ll actually use the gifts you get, which is much better for the planet than letting them sit around collecting dust until you throw them out ten years later.

So in 2020, let’s start normalizing Christmas lists for adults, shall we?

A lot of us are spending a substantial amount of time at home, either working or simply social distancing. It’s really nice to receive something in the mail, especially a holiday card that can be hung-up.

The brand People I’ve Loved from Oakland, California. Over the last nine years, the small company has grown and is now known for its quirky cards and merchandise. Everything is hand-designed by Carissa Potter and her small team. The cards are designed to make sometimes difficult conversations easier and to provide some realism to the holidays that more mainstream card providers don’t.

Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square – November 22

For all the Dolly Parton fans out there, this promises to be a special holiday treat. Parton plays an angel who needs to change the mind of a Scrooge-like character played by Christine Baranski. Baranski wants to evict everyone from the small town, where she owns most of the property. Naturally, the angelic Parton changes her mind. Parton has also released her first holiday album in 30 years, and it features all new songs to go along with the Christmas film. 

Home For The Holidays Season 2 – December 18

This Norwegian show was a sleeper hit last December when the first season was released. The main character Johanna is a nurse who has bad luck with love. She decides to take matters into her own hands and finds the perfect date for her parents’ annual Christmas dinner. Fans of the show may finally have an answer to last season’s major cliffhanger. 

The Christmas Chronicles 2 – November 25

In another follow-up, fans get to watch Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell return as Santa and Mrs. Klaus. This sequel will have all of the hijinks of the first film, but with a new troublemaker. Someone is threatening to cancel Christmas and that is something Santa cannot allow.

You absolutely can spend a whole day in pajamas, do your nails, take a long bath, and do everything else that makes you feel cozy! In fact, there will never be a more perfect time for that than right now.

]]> When you’re young, making your Christmas list is one of the most exciting parts of the holiday season. You get to sit down and write out your heart’s deepest desires in the hope that Santa will have some of them waiting for you under the tree on Christmas morning.

Yet, as adults, we don’t tend to write gift wishlists anymore. Instead, we let people get things for us that they think we’d like. After all, it’s nice to get a thoughtful surprise from your loved ones. And you don’t want to seem greedy by asking for something in particular. So it goes; no more Christmas lists.

But we think a case can be made for making a wishlist for the holidays no matter your age. Here’s why.

  1. It makes life much easier for your loved ones when they don’t have to wonder what to buy you.
  2. You’re more likely to end up happy with what you receive, which will also make the gift giver happy.
  3. You’ll actually use the gifts you get, which is much better for the planet than letting them sit around collecting dust until you throw them out ten years later.

So in 2020, let’s start normalizing Christmas lists for adults, shall we?

]]> With the holidays quickly approaching, it’s time to think about sending out holiday cards. A lot of us are spending a substantial amount of time at home, either working or simply social distancing. It’s really nice to receive something in the mail, especially a holiday card that can be hung-up.

The brand People I’ve Loved from Oakland, California. Over the last nine years, the small company has grown and is now known for its quirky cards and merchandise. Everything is hand-designed by Carissa Potter and her small team. The cards are designed to make sometimes difficult conversations easier and to provide some realism to the holidays that more mainstream card providers don’t.

Christmas Cards

The Christmas card line has some very funny ones that poke fun at the holiday. One card says, “Debatably, it’s the most wonderful time of the year…” Another one features a woman, and her cat wishing everyone a happy holiday. The realism and attention to everyday life is what makes them special.

There is also a selection of Hanukkah cards, which display the menorah and what the candles mean. A particularly good one showcases all the different kinds of donuts that you eat on the holiday. Everyone knows that Hanukkah is not complete, without eating at least a few of these special donuts.

]]> Now that we’re in November, it’s time for Netflix to start releasing their much anticipated Christmas content. There are three standouts that any holiday lover has to watch. 

Dolly Parton’s Christmas on the Square – November 22

For all the Dolly Parton fans out there, this promises to be a special holiday treat. Parton plays an angel who needs to change the mind of a Scrooge-like character played by Christine Baranski. Baranski wants to evict everyone from the small town, where she owns most of the property. Naturally, the angelic Parton changes her mind. Parton has also released her first holiday album in 30 years, and it features all new songs to go along with the Christmas film. 

Home For The Holidays Season 2 – December 18

This Norwegian show was a sleeper hit last December when the first season was released. The main character Johanna is a nurse who has bad luck with love. She decides to take matters into her own hands and finds the perfect date for her parents’ annual Christmas dinner. Fans of the show may finally have an answer to last season’s major cliffhanger. 

The Christmas Chronicles 2 – November 25

In another follow-up, fans get to watch Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell return as Santa and Mrs. Klaus. This sequel will have all of the hijinks of the first film, but with a new troublemaker. Someone is threatening to cancel Christmas and that is something Santa cannot allow.
