Black velvet dresses were all the rage at the BAFTAs, and Balfe embraced this trend in her simple, yet stylish Armani Prive dress with long, pointy sleeves.
The Stranger Things star attended her first BAFTAs this year, and she wore a black Louis Vuitton gown with velvet top and sheer, lace skirt, and finished the look with a matching pair of opera gloves.
In a sea of black velvet gowns, Hayek decided to do something a little bit different and knocked us off our feet with her purple gothic Gucci dress with lacy details.
Hayek’s House of Gucci co-star also gave velvet her seal of approval. Lady Gaga brought Old Hollywood glamour to the red carpet in a velvet Ralph Lauren dress with a dramatic dark-green silk train.

]]>If we had to pick the leading fashion trend at this year’s BAFTAs, metallic dresses would take the cake. Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Renée Zellweger, and Cynthia Erivo were amongst the stars embracing this trend, but Vanessa Kirby looked better than anyone in her classy Versace gown.
Dresses in different shades of yellow, orange, and red were all the rage at the BAFTAs. Andra Day, Ashley Madekwe, and Niamh Algar were amongst the stars embracing this trend, but our favorite colorful look came in the form of Anna Kendrick’s pleated Zuhair Murad gown.
No award ceremony can go without a couple of classy black dresses, and BAFTAs gave us quite a few. Phoebe Dynevor led the way in her asymmetric Louis Vuitton gown, and she was joined by Priyanka Chopra, Felicity Jones, Sophie Cookson, and many more stars in classy black gowns.

Zoe Kravitz wore St Laurant on the red carpet and made quite an impression. She looks sleek as ever in shiny metallics with a 20’s-style hairdo.

]]>We got to see many different shades of pink at the BAFTAs as many celebrities embraced this romantic color. Their choices ranged from simple (Laura Dern and Renee Zellweger) to extremely over the top (Florence Pugh and Scarlett Johansson).
Speaking of over the top looks – fringed and feathered dresses made a major appearance at the ceremony. They were often mixed up with sequins, making each of the dresses that featured this combo truly extravagant.
If we had to pick one color that dominated the red carpet at the BAFTAs, it would definitely be black. Many of the stars attending the ceremony opted for a safe choice and hit the red carpet in sleek black dresses, including Rooney Mara, Saoirse Ronan, and Emilia Clarke.
