]]>The latest fitness and health addition is Shapa’s numberless scales which use colors instead of a number to track your weight and the best part is you never need to know how much you weigh. Instead, you can focus on how you look and feel rather than trying to get to a number, that means nothing.
Shapa’s scales pair with a smartphone app that helps you lose or maintain your current weight. Upon stepping on the scale, a green, blue, or gray background will appear instead of a number. Green means you’re maintaining your weight, shades of blue mean you’re losing weight, and gray indicates you’re gaining weight.
Knowing your weight range is better than tracking your number because your weight changes throughout the day due to hormonal changes, water retention, and based on the time of the day. It’s easy to get discouraged when you see the number slightly increase and with a numberless scale you can make sure you stay within a healthy range.

]]>Weight-loss is about more than just calories in minus calories out. The process is different for everyone because it’s based on bodies, lifestyles, and life experiences. Instead of looking at a scale, focus on leading healthier habits.
Many people believe that eating carbs leads to gaining weight and that’s just not the case. Carbs are the body’s main source of energy and high-quality, complex carbohydrates keep blood sugar levels stable and help boost recovery after workouts.
There’s a myth that unless you’re sweating during your workout, it’s not effective. Walking, yoga, swimming, and low-intensity cardio are great ways to stay in shape.
Feeling hungry isn’t a sign that your diet is working. Hunger is our body’s way of telling us it needs energy and when you ignore it, overeating and binging often happens.
It’s easy to equate your self-worth with the number on the scale, but numbers don’t actually mean anything. Everybody is different and body size doesn’t always relate to the person’s overall health. Instead of focusing on the scale, create fitness goals like running a 5k or doing 10 pushups.

]]>Dancing burns a ton of calories and it is so much fun to do! Put on some music and get your friends or family to have impromptu dance parties with you. Dancing is a great way to get in cardio and have fun at the same time.
Walking is a great way to get into shape because you don’t need any special equipment or shoes, and little by little it can accumulate throughout the day. Whether you choose to walk to the grocery store or walk every morning before you go to work, walking is a simple way to get active.
Taking the steps wherever you can pay off in the long run. Not only are you burning calories, but you are also toning muscles in your legs and glutes, making all sorts of cardio easier over time.

]]>The program given to over 298 people involved in the trial varied in length depending on the severity of their obesity and diabetes, and it involves an all-liquid diet.
Participants are given four powder pouches per day that can be mixed with water to create a shake or a soup, and each meal provides essential nutrients at a meager 200 calories. The easiest thing about the program is that “you don’t have to think about what you eat”. After the program concludes, dieticians help the participants reintroduce healthy, solid foods.
Almost 50% of the participants in the trial had their diabetes enter into remission within a year, but doctors aren’t calling this a cure. The weight needs to stay off for diabetes to stay at bay.
“This trial has the potential to transform the lives of millions of people,” said, Dr. Elizabeth Robertson, director of research at Diabetes UK. Other doctors are calling the trial “hugely exciting” and that a condition formerly regarded as irreversible now appears to be very treatable.
Having been through the program and kept the weight off for 2 years, Isobel thinks that this treatment will work for anyone. “You have to be fired up, you have to be prepared,” she said. “But anybody can do it if you feel strongly enough.”
