After 26 days of surviving on limited food, enduring tough challenges, and navigating a web of paranoia and backstabbing alliances on an island in Fiji, the winner of Survivor Season 47 has finally been crowned.

Winner of Season 47

Rachel LaMont, a 34-year-old graphic designer from Dexter, Michigan, has been named the Sole Survivor of Survivor Season 47, taking home the $1 million prize. LaMont’s gameplay was a masterclass in strategy, physical dominance, and social awareness, earning her the title in a season filled with twists and challenges.

Rachel LaMont’s Experience on Survivior

Throughout the competition, LaMont secured four individual immunity wins, tying the record for the most individual immunity wins by a woman in a single season. Her victory in the final four immunity challenge guaranteed her a spot in the final three. She chose to bring Sue Smey to the final, leaving Sam Phalen and Teeny Chirichillo to battle it out in a fire-making challenge. Phalen emerged victorious, completing the final trio alongside LaMont and Smey.

At the final Tribal Council, LaMont delivered a compelling argument for her win, emphasizing her strategic maneuvers, physical accomplishments, and strong social game. She was tactical with her presentation, revealing in an earlier interview with Entertainment Weekly, “I intend to know my jury and what they’ll respect and what they’ll loathe. So I would apologize, or suck up, or bolster, or guilt each jury member and be what they need me to be in that moment to get me the win.”

Her strategy worked and the jury responded overwhelmingly, awarding her the victory with a 7-1-0 vote. Phalen received one vote from juror Kyle Ostwald, while Smey was left without any votes.

LaMont’s journey to the Survivor crown was not without challenges. According to Entertainment Weekly, she was initially an alternate for Season 46, but she didn’t make the cut that year. However, she returned determined in Season 47, ultimately triumphing in a competitive field. Her win marks a significant moment in the series’ history, contributing to a growing trend of female winners. In the last seven seasons, women have claimed the title five times, including the last three consecutive seasons.

With the conclusion of Season 47, fans are already looking ahead to Survivor Season 48, set to premiere on CBS on February 26, 2025. The upcoming season promises a new cast of contenders and challenges, continuing the legacy of one of television’s most enduring reality competition series.

Rachel LaMont’s victory highlights her resilience, adaptability, and the dynamic nature of Survivor, proving once again that the title of Sole Survivor is earned through a perfect blend of skill, strategy, and determination.

Survivor Season 47 is now streaming on Paramount+.
