Instead, go for a vegetarian gravy made out of mushrooms. You can also make it vegan by switching out butter for olive oil or vegan butter.

The green beans in the casserole are of course healthy but combined with cream or creamy canned soup and you’ve basically ruined all the healthy parts. Instead, make regular sauteed greens beans and serve them with slivered almonds.

Again, sweet potatoes are very healthy, but by sticking a marshmallow on top, you take away from the nutrients. If you still want something of a treat, make sweet potato fries! Even with the oil needed, it is still healthier than a sugary marshmallow.
