]]>Despite what everyone’s saying, you’re not obligated to do anything during this pandemic if you don’t want to. You’re allowed to be stressed and to need time to rest and recharge; after all, it’s not like this is a vacation. The last thing you want is to feel bad because you’re less productive than everyone else: that’s not helping you or anyone.
And consider this: how do you even know about other people’s quarantine life? From social media? You can bet the image they’re sharing is not completely realistic, if not totally false.
Yes, we now have a sudden chance to sit at home and learn a new skill, cook, learn a language, and organize every corner of the house. But you know what? The only thing you need to do is the thing you want to do! Even if it means staying in bed by noon and spending most of your days practicing hobbies or streaming your favorite TV show.

We always enjoy Kaling’s humor and writing, and her debut book is a perfect place to start if you haven’t read anything she wrote yet.
Despite what the title of this book is saying, Eleanor Oliphant is not fine. She just thinks she is, but she will learn many things about herself along the way. This book gets pretty sad in some parts, but the overall feeling we had after reading it is that it’s a lovely and heartwarming story.
Whether you’re in a mood for a book or a romantic movie, Nora Ephron got you covered. Reading this book will make you feel like she’s your best friend.

]]>When you’re traveling, your mornings are optimized to get you going through the door as quickly as possible. Reduce the beauty and wardrobe routine as much as you can – imagine you’re packing for a trip and have a limited luggage room. Prepare several outfits you’ll wear on repeat and remove everything you’re not using on a daily basis from your bathroom cabinet.
You don’t have to be productive every second of every day. Instead of doing busy work just so you’d do something, embrace not doing anything and take a nap, paint, or find another way to rest and relax.
Remember your past trips by cooking food from different cuisines. Then put on some music from that country and enjoy a theme night!

]]>If you were staying in a fancy hotel, you would expect breakfast with fresh pastries and great coffee. So why not get these things in advance for your time off? You will have the added advantage of not having to get out of bed early, in case you miss breakfast.
Before your staycation begins, make sure your home is tidy as you don’t want to spend the time cleaning. Invest in some fresh flowers to brighten the space and make you feel special.
Treat yourself to a spa day at home. You can get a beautician to come round and give you a massage and manicure. You can then spend the afternoon relaxing with a glass of champagne in the bath. On a budget? Pick up a couple of face masks and new nail polish from the Dollorama and you’re good to go.
Set yourself a budget and treat yourself to a fancy restaurant locally that you may not have been to before. If you were on vacation, you may splash out, so apply the same logic to your staycation. Go out, feast and enjoy.
If your family, friends or work colleagues know that your planning to be at home, they may feel more inclined to get in touch and ask for favors. Your time is precious so spend some time away from your screens and turn off your phone. This is your time.
