]]>According to Wong, she finds inspiration for her food creations in everyday life. “I tell people that inspiration is not from one source, but it is from multiple sources,” she relayed in an interview with the Epoch Times. “I could be inspired by pop culture, popular culture, or whatever that is trendy now.”
Indeed, pop culture references, as well as Japanese characters appear throughout her work, making her bento boxes both appealing and undeniably cute! Each of her pieces begins with a sketch. “I will usually draw first, after which I will come up with the design and figure out what box I would be using, and the ingredients which I need,” explained Wong. “This usually happens the night before, or sometimes a few nights before. I can also have the design hanging out for a week before I start making it.”
“I usually make the lunchboxes in the morning,” she further relayed. “I don’t usually wake up in the morning and start thinking what I am going to do. I prepare myself so that I will know what I am going to do the next day. That’s the process: sketch, design, plan, get ready my ingredients, cook, pack, and take photos.”

]]>When you think of a Michelin star restaurant, you think of tasting menus, wine pairings, and shelling out hundreds of dollars for a one of a kind meal. However, that isn’t the case at this restaurant in Singapore.
Singapore is a notoriously expensive place to live and even visit, but in the Chinatown neighborhood of the city, you can find one of the best deals of your life.
Liao Fan Hong Kong is actually just a food stall, so you might not think much of it. However, it actually does have a Michelin star and the food is super authentic and delicious.
What’s best of all is that you can actually get a plate of the soya sauce chicken rice and noodles for just about $2, which you just can’t pass up.
Besides that famous dish, there are many other traditional dishes you can get for a really reasonable price. You can get a ton of different noodle dishes, along with yummy vegetables in sauces that are out of this world like delicious oyster sauce.
The only thing you have to beware of is the popularity of the place; it can sometimes take you an hour or more to get to the front of the line, but if you have the time, it’s really worth it.
