]]> Krakow, Poland is an amazing city with a very interesting cultural past. Funnily enough, they now meld their past history and cultural roots with modern ingredients and demands of the locals. If you are looking to travel somewhere with beautiful buildings and awesome restaurants that hide inside them, come to Krakow.

Hevre

Located inside a 19th-century prayer house, this restaurant celebrates its Jewish roots by keeping the interior intact, including the Hebrew writing and Jewish symbols on the walls. It also translates into their food, which is a mix of Polish ingredients and Jewish recipes. You can have anything from a hummus plate with falafel to “Jewish caviar”, which is chopped liver.

This restaurant is known to have the best pierogis in the city. A pierogi is a Polish dumpling stuffed with anything from meats, to cheese, to famous Polish mushrooms. Not only is the service fast, the food is delicious, and the prices are super affordable.

Alchemia

Alchemia is one of the coolest bars, clubs, and restaurants in the city. You can order drinks and food like awesome burgers, really well put together salads or tasty street foods. Then, downstairs, you can enjoy an awesome club with great music and dancing.

Prices

All around Poland the prices of everything are extremely cheap. The zlote or PLN is the currency, and 1 equals around $0.25. From restaurants to alcohol and even taxis, you will find that Poland has incredibly competitive prices as opposed to other European countries. Even in Warsaw, the capital, a taxi ride into the center of town will only cost you about $10.

Architecture

The architecture of cities like Krakow and Warsaw are completely stunning.  Most of the buildings are in the baroque or gothic styles, and there is an amazing amount of color as well! Between that, the cobblestone streets, and the pops of modern architecture the cities are just stunning.

History

There are three concentration camps from World War II located in Poland, and when you visit there it is crucial to see at least one. Although it seems like such a far away subject, to visit and to see the struggle and death of so many people is to keep the memory alive never to be repeated again.
