According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Steelers hosted Haskins for a visit on Thursday as they consider signing the 23-year-old player. The Ohio State product recently also had a meeting with Carolina Panthers, but the two sides couldn’t agree.

Dwayne Haskins has been a free agent since December 28th, when Washington made the decision to release him. The move came after Haskins was involved in a series of off-the-field issues while also failing to produce on the field.

Haskins, who was the No.15 pick in 2019, played 16 games in NFL while throwing for 2,804 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions.

Despite all the red flags about Haskins, he showed enough flashes of talent to entice the teams and earn himself another shot in the NFL. While starting job is most likely out of question for him, he could land a backup role and start from there.

Signing with Steelers would make sense for Haskins for multiple reasons.  He would become a part of the well-run and no-nonsense organization, which could possibly help him cut the distractions and focus on football.

He would also have a clear path to start at some point since Pittsburgh’s current starter Ben Roethlisberger is nearing retirement.

It remains to be seen where Haskins gets his fresh start and whether he’ll make the most out of the opportunity in his second try.

According to multiple reports, Pouncey is considering retirement and isn’t sure whether he’ll be back in 2021.

Ramon Foster, former Steeler and current NFL analyst with DK Pittsburgh Sports, reached out to Pouncey to check out the reports, and it turned out that there is some truth in them. According to Foster, there is a “50-50” chance Pouncey retires and he needs to consider a “number of factors” before making a decision.

The talk about Pouncey’s retirement was further fueled by the exchange between the 31-year-old player and Pittsburgh’s quarterback Ben Roethlisberger after the Browns’ loss.

As Foster points out in his piece on DK Pittsburgh Sports, Maurkice Pouncey’s decision might depend on the Steelers’ ability to compete. If Pouncey gets convinced that the team can challenge for the Super Bowl, one of the rare achievements he lacks in his storied career, he will be back. If not, then that will be the end of his NFL career.

Pouncey, Steelers’ No.18 pick in 2010, started 134 games in the past 10 seasons. He has nine Pro Bowl appearances and five All-Pro nods while also being selected into NFL 2010s All-Decade Team.

Dupree got injured late in the fourth quarter while rushing Ravens’ quarterback Trace McSorley. He was pushed by left tackle Orlando Brown Jr. during the attempt. At this point, his knee gave up, and he fell to the ground with a painful expression on his face.

The 27-year-old linebacker managed to limp off the field without needing a stretcher, but it was obvious at that point that he might be in for a lengthy break.

The news represents a big blow for Pittsburgh, and their Super Bowl hopes this year, but it is even worse for Bud Dupree.

Dupree is playing on a franchise tag in 2020 and was set for a big payday in the offseason considering his performances. But now, with a big injury hanging over his free agency, it is unclear whether he’ll get the offers he is hoping for.

 In 12 games this season, Dupree racked up eight sacks, 31 tackles, 15 QB hits, two forced fumbles, and two pass deflections.
