One thing that people often think about when it comes to pantry items is the expiration dates. While this is important, if you organize your pantry enough this shouldn’t become a problem. However, if your food is in date, but you have multiples of things, this is a real problem. Make sure you take inventory of your pantry every couple of months to make sure you’re not buying another box of crackers when you already have 2 of the same kind!
There are obviously some staples that you use on a daily or weekly basis, and some that are only used occasionally. Don’t be a food hoarder and find occasions to use those unique items so they don’t just sit around! If you have a unique jam, invited friends over to enjoy it with toast and brie.
