It just happened to be one of those types of plays.” Texans Quarterback CJ Stroud also spoke out about Dubose, saying in his post-game interview: “First I just wanna send prayers to Grant. Tough situation right there, just hoping he’s OK. Praying for his recovery and he can get back on the field,” as reported by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
DuBose, a second-year pro, joined the Dolphins earlier this season after being claimed off waivers from the Green Bay Packers. Drafted in the seventh round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Charlotte, he spent his rookie year on the Packers’ practice squad. Sunday’s game was his first since Week 2, with DuBose catching one pass before his injury.

]]>Speaking with media on Thursday, Dolphins’ head coach Brian Flores gave a vote of confidence to Tagovailoa and said that the 22-year-old QB will make a significant step forward next season.
“I’m excited about the future with him,” said Flores. “He’s a young player, talented player, bounced back from the hip. I think this is a big offseason for him. That Year 1 to Year 2 jump will be important like it is for all rookies.”
Tagovailoa, who was Dolphins’ No.5 pick in 2020, had an uneven first season as a pro and found himself benched several times in favor of veteran Ryan Fitzpatrick. He completed 64.1 percent of his passes while throwing for just 1,814 yards and 11 touchdowns in 10 games. He also had five picks.
Despite this, the Dolphins reportedly believe that Tua Tagovailoa can be their franchise quarterback and are willing to be patient with his development. They also hope that the arrival of a new offensive coordinator and Tagovailoa being fully healthy after undergoing hip surgery last year will also work in their favor.
Still, a lot can happen in the future. Miami currently owns a third overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft via Houston Texans and could be tempted to get another QB if someone they like falls into their lap.

]]>Gaskin, who rushed for 387 yards and two touchdowns in 2020, suffered a knee injury in the 28-17 win over LA Rams over the weekend. The severity of the injury is unclear, but he is set to miss at least three weeks before being eligible to return from IR.
Miami confirmed the news on social media.
Gaskin’s injury further complicates the Dolphins’ already bad situation at running back. With No. 2 back Matt Breida also out, Miami will have to turn to offseason acquisition Jordan Howard, who wasn’t exactly a volume rusher this season. Howard scored three touchdowns but only has 14 yards on the ground from 18 carries and was a healthy scratch in the last couple of games.
Dolphins might also give a look to second-year player Patrick Laird as well as undrafted rookie pickup Salvon Ahmed. Laird didn’t have a rushing attempt this season, while Ahmed is still waiting for his NFL debut.
However, despite all the issues in the backfield, Flores remains optimistic about the ability of his players to step up.
“We got some guys banged up,” Flores told the media on Wednesday. “We’ll see how this goes throughout the week, but we like the depth in the backfield.”
