]]> Who doesn’t love when their bra and underwear match? Well, now the latest matchy-matchy trend taking over Instagram is having your makeup and nails match. Beauty influencers and nail artists are taking the trend to the extreme, the more the colors match, the better the look is.

The trend was first seen on the Fall 2013 runway and it reappeared on the Spring 2013 runway. Matching your lipstick to your nails is nothing new, but pairing neon nail polish with neon eyeshadow is something we haven’t seen before. The design isn’t limited to monochromatic colors either, detailed patterns and french tips are also being seen matching to makeup.

Nail artist Amy Le, who has worked for influencer Brittany Xavier told Elle, “I feel like matching your lipstick to your nails has always been an old school beauty trend, but recently the overall monochromatic look from your makeup to your nails has gained a lot of popularity… So chic, and it pulls everything together…”
