Look at expiry dates

Take a look at the expiry dates on your makeup. It’s important to throw out makeup that is past its expiry date as old makeup can cause breakouts, eye infections, sites, and skin irritation.

Replace your makeup regularly, and keep it out of direct sunlight, humidity, and heat to increase its lifespan. This is how long it lasts:

Liquid foundation: 6 – 12 months

Powder foundation: 24 months

Mascara: 3 months

Eyeliner: 12 months

Lipstick: 12 – 24 months

Divide and conquer

Keep those products you use most frequently together in a bag that is easily accessible. This could include your basic foundation, concealer, powder, blush, mascara, and eyeliner.

Keep products that you use less often (think shimmery eyeshadow, for example) in a less accessible space. Sort similar products into suitable containers.

Label it
