]]>Going door-to-door may not be the best trick-or-treating tactic this year. You can be creative, though, and organize a candy hunt within your own home. You can walk around the neighborhood with the kids and let them show off their costumes, but don’t knock on people’s doors or make contact with them.
If you still want to hand out treats yourself, make sure to wear a mask at all times and use a hand sanitizer whenever you touch something. This is an even better approach than simply leaving a bowl of candy outside because then many different hands will reach into it and potentially contaminate it.
By now, we’re already used to wearing masks everywhere and they can be a great addition to our Halloween costumes. We expect to see many ninja and surgeon costumes this year, and if you’re making other costumes at home, spare some fabric for a matching mask.

Practice eye contact with the camera instead; it may feel silly at first, but don’t think about it too much and focus on what you want to say.
Video calls sometimes lag for a few seconds, which is enough to create awkward moments if your interviewer tries to interrupt you but you keep talking. Speak clearly and not too fast and allow for pauses after you finish a thought.
Just because your job interview is being held online doesn’t mean you shouldn’t put some effort into your appearance. You actually have an advantage here since you can control the first impression you make on the interviewer more than in real-life situations. They won’t be able to see many of the subconscious cues, but they will see how you look.

But things get even worse when your neighbors are being noisy. Imagine you have to work but all you can hear is the noise from the apartment above you. How can you deal with that?
Nobody finds confronting the neighbors easy. You have to have an awkward conversation that may not even solve the problem, but it’s the first thing you should try. If you’re lucky, a conversation will be enough. If the neighbors are reasonable, they will understand the situation and keep the noise under control.
If you don’t know the neighbors or they don’t seem friendly, the task can seem daunting. However, if you don’t address the problem they may not even be aware that they’re too loud. Try to approach them without mentioning the problem first so you can set the tone and have a more relaxed conversation about noise later.
